2024 Referee Clinics

Entry Level Clinic (14+)

The Entry Level Referee Clinic is the entry point into 11 a-side soccer. Once an individual is successful in passing this clinic they will be classified as a Youth Referee (if they are 14 or 15 years old) or a District Referee (if they are 16 years old or older). The goal of this clinic is to ensure that individuals who pass are capable to be either a Referee or an Assistant Referee in 11 a-side soccer.

• Age Requirement: Applicants enrolling in Entry Level Clinics must be 14 years of age on or before December 31 of the current year. This is a firm requirement set by Canada Soccer.

Clinic Structure & Planning: 

• • Session 1: Webinar 1 – 2.5 Hours
  • Session 2: In-Person On Field Component – 3.5 Hours
  • 17 self-guided law-based modules with questions via RefCentre

Clinic Dates & Times:
Online Theory Webinar: Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 6:00pm – 8:30pm

On-Field Practical: Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 9:00am – 12:30pm

Location for On-Field Practical: SASCU Recreation Center Gymnasium – 2550 2600 10th Ave NE, Salmon Arm

Clinic Fee: $129.25

Small Sided Referee Clinic (12+)

• Age Requirement: Applicants enrolling in Small Sided Clinics must be 12 years of age on or before December 31 of the current year. This is a firm requirement set by Canada Soccer.

Once an individual is successful in passing this clinic, they are classified as a Small Sided Referee and may officiate in matches with players between U6-U12

  • Session 2: Webinar#2 Online Theory  – 2 Hours
  • Session 3: In-Person On Field Practical Component – 2 Hours

Webinar #2: Monday, February 26, 2024 – 6:00pm – 8:00pm

On-field Session:  Saturday, March 2, 2024 – 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Referee scheduling priority is given to those that have attended the Entry Level Clinic ahead of Small Sided Clinic attendees.
