Program Details
The Development & Select Programs are part of our competitive player pathway which gives our players the chance to play in a higher-level league than our recreational community league.  Our boys and girls will play for Shuswap FC teams in an inter-district league against other clubs from Vernon, Kamloops, Revelstoke, and sometimes Kelowna and Penticton.

Players in the competitive pathway will have one practice per week in the pre-season (Feb-March), and two team practices per week during the season (April-June).  They will also have additional high-level training programs available to them throughout the year.
2025-26 Development Calendar

Why is registration so early?  SYSA needs to declare our teams for the league we participate in by December 1, 2025.  To do that, we need to have player registrations by August and hold Player Evaluations (2-3 per age group) in September/October.  Giving our Technical Committee time to form teams, appoint coaches, and ensure all players are registered at the appropriate level.

Financial Assistance and Payment Plan Options: We understand these fees are due a quite a while before the season, we have plenty of financial assistance options available, and we are more than happy to set up payment plans for families, please just contact the SYSA Office before the registration deadline and we can set something up that works for your family.

Volunteers Needed: We are also looking for team-based volunteers including coaches, team managers, and volunteers for team activities.  If you are interested in helping with your child’s team, please reach out to the SYSA Office, we offer free coaching clinics, manager support, and other resources.
