Greetings
Soccer season is in full swing and there have
been exciting new developments since my last message. I am pleased
to announce that we have hired our Technical Director, Ezra
Creamers, to be Shuswap youth soccer’s new Executive Director.
Ezra’s already hard at work organizing the upcoming fall program.
Look for information on this website and future mass emails.
At the time I am writing this, Div 1
Rotterdam Excelsior’s Youth Head Coach Marco van Lochem, has
arrived in Salmon Arm and will be spending the week in Salmon Arm
observing and working with the various SYSA programs. Please join me
in welcoming Marco to Salmon Arm and if you have a moment take the
time to introduce yourself and chat with Marco.
The 2010 SYSA Annual General Meeting will take
place Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 7:00 pm at the Little
Mountain Clubhouse. For more information call Kim at the office.
I would strongly encourage you to attend this important event.
In closing, I would like to say that I’ve been
very happy with the direction and progress that both the Club
(House) and Select programs have gone. As always I would like to
thank the Board of Directors and all other volunteers that have
dedicated so much of their time to making SYSA such a success.

Welcome to yet another spring/summer session
of Shuswap Youth Soccer! SYSA had a great winter and once again, we
are gearing up for a busy upcoming Club (formerly known as
House)/Select Season. I would like to personally thank our
Administrator Kim and our Technical Director Ezra for all their hard
work for getting this spring season ready. Without them, things just
wouldn’t be the same! I would also like to extend a big thank you to
one of our most valuable volunteers, Anne Lockington for the many
hours she’s graciously put into helping Kim with the office work
that always seems to be never ending! With regards to the office,
please be patient with the staff and all the wonderful volunteers
who have been kind enough to volunteer their time to help with the
running of our highly successful Club and Select Programs.
At the time this note has been posted to the
website, the Board will be in the process of hiring an Executive
Director/Technical Director. The posting has been posted to the BC
Soccer Website and SYSA’s webpage. The successful candidate will be
announced shortly.
Please remember to check this website on a
regular basis for updated information. Please make sure that yours
and your children’s contact information is up to date. It makes the
office’s job a lot easier if they have your most recent email
addresses and phone numbers in case of any emergencies or important
information need to be given to you.
As always, if you have any questions or
concerns, please feel free to contact the office or the following
people:
Gordon Milne - our Board member and our Select
Co-coordinator/liaison
Ezra Cremers - our Technical Director
Eugene Roy - our Club Head Coach
I can also be reached via email at

Dear Friends
The time has flown by on the past four months since I sent my first
message to you all. Some exciting events have taken place during
that time! Our new technical director, Ezra Cremers, put into
implementation a series of new programs for the Fall 2009 session. I
am happy to announce that they were a smashing success and Shuswap
Youth Soccer has received lots of positive feedback on them. Ezra
has put forward a Winter program that I urge you all to look explore
further. These programs will lead into our outdoor season which will
soon be upon us.
I am excited to announce
as well, the SYSA board, after much discussion and research, has
decided to change our Select programs colours from Red and White to
Green and White. The new uniforms will be arriving in the near
future.
Our club program (formerly known as House
Soccer) will be kicking into high gear very quickly. Registration
forms will soon be sent out (registration deadlines will be earlier
than last year, look for information on times in the near future).
If you are interested in coaching and or volunteering, please
contact Kim, our office administrator, at the office at
250-833-5607.
Income tax receipts will be sent out by the end of February. Please
be patient with the office, as this is a substantial undertaking.
The indoor arena is currently undergoing a renovation to the front
lobby and washrooms. We’ve been told that all work will be completed
by March 2010. I personally am looking forward to the completion of
this massive undertaking and can’t wait to see the final product!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns or would like to
volunteer with SYSA, please don’t hesitate to call me at
250-833-8543 or our office at 250-833-5607.
